By marking out times in our day to turn to God in prayer and listen to his voice in Scripture, we center our lives around the majesty of God and are tuned to his mission.
In the Anglican tradition, this marking of time in the day to turn to God has been bound up with the practice of ‘The Daily Office.’ It is an ancient rhythm of prayer designated for several times in the day: morning, midday, evening, and night (compline).
The Daily Office invites us to pause and notice the presence and work of God in ourselves and the people and events of our lives.
