Flowering The Cross
On Easter we will be placing flowers on the cross during worship on Easter morning. Flowering of the cross is an ancient Christian practice in which we place flowers on the bare cross at the front of the sanctuary. The cross is bare during Lent to symbolize the humility and suffering of Jesus. But on Easter, the cross is covered with flowers to symbolize the new life that emerges from Christ’s death on Good Friday and resurrection on Easter. If you’d like to participate, please bring a small bouquet (2-3 flowers), either from the store or from your yard.
