The Person and Power Of the Holy Spirit: Empowering Followers of Jesus to Live for the Sake of Others

April Monthly Gathering
Friday, April 17 at 7:00 pm
The Hunter’s Home

Receiving and interacting with the Spirit is not intuitive for most of us. We wonder: Who is the Spirit? What does the Spirit do? How can I be filled with the Holy Spirit? How do I engage with the Spirit without being weird?

The Spirit can and does work as he pleases in any kind of person. He quietly companions us in every aspect of life, teaching us to do all that Jesus taught was best, working all things to good over the course of an entire life as he both transforms our character and gives us spiritual gifts to serve others.

Exploring this Eastertide theme will be the focus of our April Monthly gathering. Join Todd Hunter and Elizabeth Khorey as they facilitate our conversations over dessert.

An Unhurried Life: Following Jesus’ Rhythms of Work and Rest

What if following Jesus were also about living a life like His in relationship with His Father?

Think about how Jesus frequently got away to a quiet place to simply be alone with Abba. Consider, too, that Jesus was unhurried enough to pray, unhurried enough to care, unhurried enough to discern and then go wherever the Father was leading Him.

Join us for this conversation about Jesus’ invitation to consider a less hurried, more abundant way of life.

November Gathering – Discipleship with Bill Hull

What Does The Gospel You Teach and Live Naturally Lead To?

If you attempt to make a Christ-like disciple based on a faulty gospel, you will fail. Every gospel has its own DNA and creates its own product.

Join Holy Trinity as we welcome our friend, Bill Hull who will help us think about the various gospels being taught today and why it determines the kind of Jesus we follow and the kind of disciples we make.

Bill Hull is a writer and one of the world’s leading discipleship experts, calling the church to choose the life to which Jesus called every disciple. The core of Bill’s writings (of over 20 books) are his highly influential books The Complete Book of DiscipleshipJesus Christ Disciple MakerThe Disciple Making Pastor and The Disciple Making Church. These works made the case for Jesus as the prime example of a disciple maker, and that discipleship should be the core of every pastor and church’s work.

In October of 2015 Bill’s newest work will be published, Conversion and Discipleship: You Can’t have One Without the Other. It will serve as the basic text for The Bonhoeffer Project, which is devoted to the creation of disciple makers. Bill is an adjunct professor at Talbot School of Theology at Biola University

We are limited to 30 people at the gathering. Dessert and refreshments will be served.
